Wolverhampton based Punk band, The Blunts, were formed by Jay Hudson (Bitten) and friends in early 2005. The band quickly began working on new music and several covers to create a set list that matched their energetic performance. While writing their debut album, the band played a number of live shows around Wolverhampton and Birmingham, honing their sound and stage show. It wasn’t long before their high octane, full throttle performances began to attract the attention of various labels, including independent label Revolver Records.
At Revolver, they joined the likes of The Damned, Goldblade, Glen Matlock, The Yo Yo’s and the UK Subs on stage, performing various gigs, and gaining massive exposure in Punktastic and MTV. The Blunts finished work on their debut album, Gas Up The Machine, early on in 2006 and a launch event was scheduled to coincide with the release.
Unfortunately, the event led to catastrophic incident that would end the band, and sever friendships forever. This was the last the world saw of The Blunts, but frontman, Jay Hudson continued on, to form Bitten a couple of years later.
