Antix formed in Los Angeles, California, USA in 1982, and, according to the credits on their EP, were made up of Greg Clewley (Lead Vocals, Backing Vocals and Screwiness); Jace White (Lead Guitars, Backing Vocals, Impressions); B.J. Norris (Bass Guitar, Backing Vocals and Cartoons); and Ian Evans (Drums, Percussion, Backing Vocals and all the answers.) After managing to get attention from Great White’s manager, Jeff Gordon, the band recorded their debut EP, “Get Up, Get Happy.” The band shared production credit for this with Don Dokken, and co-production credit went to Jeff Pilson, both famed for their time in the band Dokken.
The band unfortunately did very little after this EP: a 12 inch single was released under the band’s name a few years later, but only the drummer, Ian Evans, was left from the original line up. Greg Clewley went on to play piano and perform backing vocals for Faster Pussycat’s debut album, under the name Gregory Darling, and has since gone on to sing backing for Julian Lennon and release a number of solo albums under this pseudonym.
