A jazz record from the legendary jazz drummer Rayford Griffin was always going to be a smooth affair. Rebirth Of The Cool, as the title would suggest, feels like a modern extension of the album Birth Of The Cool by Miles Davis. This album is dripping in cool, the smooth melodies and laid back tempos make this album a real easy listening classic, and it’s jazz roots are evident all the way. If this is an extension of Miles Davis, it certainly lives up to it.
