Blame Your Parents
In the early days of Britpop, not many bands were playing a scuzzy form of alt rock that bordered on grunge. 54-40 were Canada’s answer to Garbage, a brooding beast that could slip into post-grunge and indie without so much as a conflict. This EP really gives the best indication of that, from the title track’s lopping and infectious melody to the rockabilly styles of Radio Luv Song. This EP is one hell of a place to start with 54-40.
