One Way Ticket from Mark Wright is a wonderful folk rock record that really plays to Wright’s strengths as a songwriter. The album opens with a country number, a brilliantly constructed piece of music that is the album’s title track, but as this record moves along, there are more moments that put it in line with The Verve in terms of composition, the bigger sounding tracks come across as uplifting pieces. This is a fantastic folk rock record that would make any collection just that little bit better.
